Barbara was a skilled and kind-hearted nurse in Elkader, Iowa, where she lived and worked at the local hospital and medical clinic. She is well-known in the community for her profession, remarkable character, and social ties.

Barbara Rhomberg had gallbladder cancer for the first five years of her life and died at the age of fifty-nine. Her short time on earth had a positive impact on many people.
